Biodegradable Elastic Sponge from Nanofibrous Biphasic Calcium Phosphate Ceramic as an Advanced Material for Regenerative Medicine

چکیده
Biodegradable porous calcium phosphate (CaP) ceramics are widely used as synthetic graft substitutes for bone regeneration, owing to their chemical and structural similarity associated bioactivity in terms of bone-bonding, osteoconductive, even osteoinductive properties. Nevertheless, the intrinsic brittleness poor processability CaP strongly impair clinical applicability. Herein, a biphasic (BCP) sponge is developed that consists self-supporting network seamlessly interwoven hydroxyapatite nanowires ?-tricalcium nanofibers possesses highly interconnected structure with open cell geometry ultrahigh porosity. Owing its unique properties, ceramic can be easily processed into various shapes dimensions, such cylindrical scaffolds thin, flexible membranes. Moreover, BCP introduced defect compacted or folded state from syringe and, upon wetting, expand original shape, thereby filling cavity. The nanofibrous gradually degrades vitro rapidly mineralizes when immersed simulated body fluid. it adsorbs significantly more proteins than conventional ceramic. Finally, supports attachment, proliferation, osteogenic differentiation human mesenchymal stromal cells comparable

Silicon calcium phosphate ceramic as novel biomaterial to simulate the bone regenerative properties of autologous bone.
This study was conducted to develop novel ceramic bone substitute that resembles the autologous bone behavior when used as graft material. Solid-state reaction at 1100°C was performed to synthesize β-tricalcium phosphate (β-TCP) and biphasic calcium phosphate (BCP). The ceramics were further analyzed to characterize phase composition, microstructural properties, cytocompatability and then chall...
متن کاملCage containing a biphasic calcium phosphate ceramic (Triosite) for the treatment of cervical spondylosis.
BACKGROUND We evaluated the fusion efficacy and clinical outcomes of a cage containing a biphasic calcium phosphate ceramic (Triosite) in treating cervical spondylosis. METHODS We randomly divided 100 patients with cervical spondylosis undergoing anterior discectomy with interbody polyetheretherketone (PEEK) fusion into 2 groups in the past 2 years: group A (n = 50), PEEK cage containing a bi...
متن کاملß-tricalcium Phosphate Granules as an Alternative Material for Ocular Implantation
Background: Some types of implants used for orbital implantation have side effects and complications. In this study we have evaluated beta-tricalcium phosphate (ß-TCP: ChronOS) granules as an orbital implant. Methods: Eighteen rabbits randomly allocated to four groups. Right eye enucleation performed in groups I to III followed by filling with autologous bone particles (n=5), a mixture of autol...
